Wayne State had four tries from inside the 10 yard line as they tried to take down Slippery Rock late in the 4th quarter last night. However, the Rock came up strong defensively, forcing a turnover on downs and coming away with a 24-21 win.
SRU’s Andrew Koester threw for 316 yards and one touchdown, he also rushed for another. Wide Receiver Henry Litwin registered 161 yards on nine catches—highlighted by a terrific one handed catch for a touchdown.
The Rock begin the season 1-0 for the 12th straight year and will face East Stroudsburg for the home opener next Saturday.
