The man who scared us more than 50 years ago with “Night of the Living Dead” is being immortalized, thanks to the University of Pittsburgh.
The school acquired the work of legendary filmmaker George A. Romero.
The University Library System has acquired Romero’s archives, which will soon be accessible to scholars, students and filmmakers worldwide.
The collection includes three separate archives once maintained by his widow, his daughter and business partner.
Romero, who died in 2017, was a Pittsburgh filmmaker best known for the 1968 horror classic “Night of the Living Dead.” His other works include 1978’s “Dawn of the Dead” and the 1980s TV series Tales from the Darkside.
