Ronald C. “Moleman” Heist, 72 passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully in his sleep on March 7, 2023.
Ronald had a great sense of humor; so, it goes like this: Ronald was “hatched” on May 7, 1950 in Butler. He was the eldest son of the late Mary L. Heist and the late Charles P. Heist Jr.
Ronald had a very colorful and interesting life (and that’s putting it mildly!) Purple, Lime Green, Orange, Pink and Yellow; the colors were far from mellow, he said “the brighter, the better!” But, when it came to songs you better “Paint it Black!” Anybody that knows Ron, they know what we’re talkin’ about!
Ron loved his oldies music and could name a tune in one note. A faithful caller to the Oldies radio stations song request shows, they all knew Ronald well. We will miss hearing, “this one is for Ronald.”
Ron had a unique personality, a genius in his own way, a child at heart. He loved building, he could look at a house and precisely recreate it with Legos or City Blocks; building was his passion. He was a prankster, when he pulled a good one, he had a twinkle in his eye and had that cute sheepish grin going on. He treasured his many friends and they thought the world of him. He helped them out and they helped him. We thank all those friends that made Ronald’s life a memorable one; there was never a dull moment with Ronald, there was always an adventure to be had!
Ron loved to be in the creek and many have been with him on his boating adventures. What is a boat? To Ron it was anything that could float, that’s what made it fun, LOL! He loved playing games, he was a master at monopoly, chess, and checkers, he always had a strategy!
Growing up with our older brother was interesting! From the blaring oldies, mouse traps to booby traps, we never knew what was next. We will miss him so much, he was one of a kind. He would say “they busted the mold on him!” We’ll never forget his quick phone message, “It’s Ronald calling” click! A collector of many things, he left behind a “massive mole hill of stuff” for his sisters and brothers, oh do we have an adventure of our own!
Ronald is survived by two brothers, Timothy (Sherrie) Heist, and James (Karen) Heist; three sisters, Cathy Heist, Debra Heist, and Christine Holt; one niece, Autumn Holt; and four nephews, Clayton Holt, Matthew Heist, Michael Heist, and Christopher Heist; and many relatives.
Hey Heaven, it’s Ronald’s calling! As Ron would say “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet!” In honor of Ronald for the visitation, please wear bright colors and we’d love to hear your adventure stories, that will make him smile.
