Ronald E. “Ron” Harnish, 68, of Chicora, passed away early Monday morning, June 28, 2021 in the comfort of his home while in the company of his loving wife and family.
Ronald was born in Butler on September 30, 1952. He was the son of the late Russell and Alberta Laisure Harnish.
Ron was a 1969 graduate of Karns City High School. He was a member of Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora and the Teamsters Union Local in Pittsburgh. He was a talented softball player and enjoyed playing and coaching in various Chicora area softball leagues for many years. Ron was an avid car enthusiast, and was partial to Dodges. He also enjoyed bowling and playing cards.
He retired as the office manager at Water Fresh in Cranberry Twp.
Ron is survived by his wife, Mary Price Harnish, whom he married on October 5, 1970. Also surviving are his children, Ronald E. Harnish II (Patty) of Butler and Rhonda L. Gibson and her husband, James, of Chicora; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; a sister, Sandy Kepple of Karns City, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Parsons, a grandson, Jacob, and a brother, John Harnish.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church, Chicora, with the Rev. Matt McClain, pastor of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, officiating.
