Ronald E. Roth, 83, of Butler, went to be with the Lord on Saturday from his home.
—- His loving children were blessed to have been his caregivers.
—- He was born Nov. 18, 1933, in Prospect,the son of the late Harold Roth and Grace Fisher Wolfrom. Ron graduated from Slippery Rock High School.
—- He was retired from the Electrical Workers Local Union 5 and a 60-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
—- He was involved in the Meridian golf and bowling leagues. He enjoyed hiking and working in his flower and vegetable gardens. He took pleasure in attending his grandchildren’s activities and sporting events.
—- Ron built his home in Meridian where he hosted many family events. Some, which will be remembered with fondness and appreciation are: Steeler Sundays, Super Bowl tailgates, Thanksgiving (especially his homemade tomato juice), Christmas Eve and Father’s Day picnics.
—- Along with several of his friends, he built and enjoyed a camp in Marienville. There his family experienced his creative inventions, hunting, fishing, golfing, ladies weekends and every 4th of July ‘Camp Roth.’
—- His family will cherish memories of swinging with him on his porch swings at home and at camp.
—- Surviving him are Isabel Voltz, light of his life for 41 years; three sons, Randall (Eileen) Roth, Kevin (Carol) Roth of Clarion and Jeffrey (Charlene) Roth; five daughters, Sherrill Singer, Barbara (William) Speidel, Cynthia (Dennis) Horwat, Leslie (William) Houk and Christine (Curt) Knotick.
—- “Grandpa Ronnie” will be sadly missed by his 29 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.He is also survived by one sister, Margaret (Roth) Osborne; and several nieces and nephews.
—- He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley A. McCall in 1974; his brother, Donald L. Roth; son-in-law, Michael R. Singer; and his grandson, Michael A. Singer.
