Ronald M. Cooper, 86, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born September 10, 1935 in Butler, the son of the late Frank and Alberta (Kurtz) Cooper.
Ron graduated from Penn Township High School. He served in the US Air Force, stationed in England. Ron was a 54 year member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he had sung in the choir. He also sang with the Joy Singing Group Ron retired with 37 years from Armco in 1995.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Norma (Wick) Cooper; his son, Chris (Wendy) Cooper of Pittsburgh; his stepdaughter, Karen (Jack) Swidzinski of Meridian; a stepson, Robert (Becky) Meals of Butler; 1 granddaughter, Rae Cooper; four step grandchildren, Nic Swidzinski, Layne (Swidzinski) Wood, Sydney Jordan Meals; 3 step great grandchildren, Violet Briggs Wood and Sienna Meals Dupree; his brother-in-law, John (Elsie) Wick and many nieces and nephews.
Ron was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Gloria (Cooper) Patten and 2 brothers, Robert and Gordon.
A memorial services will be held at a later date.
Interment in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
