Ronald “Ron” L. Anderson, 71, of Prospect, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 2, 2020 at the Butler Memorial Hospital of Cancer.
He was born November 3, 1948 in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late Lenard Leroy Anderson and the late Eunice Grace Callihan.
Ron worked for Fuelgraft Electric, Stauff Corporation, and US. Hydro. He was the owner and operator of Appalachian Trails from 1992 to the present day. Ron is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served during Vietnam. He especially loved spending time with his grandkids at camp and carrying firewood to keep him warm. Ron enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Ron is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Timothy) Michel of Grove City, PA; two grand-daughters, Abriella Michel, Joella Michel; three sisters, Linda (Bob) Stiener of Chicora, PA, Karen (Rick) Long of Chicora, PA, Cindy Crispin of Fenelton, PA; two brothers, Tom (Connie) Anderson of Butler, PA, Donny Anderson of Butler, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Susan G. Anderson, who he married on July 2, 1977 and who passed away on August 13, 2019; and one daughter, Jessica “Jess” Anderson, who passed away in July 25, 2016; one brother, Lenny Anderson; three sisters, Deb Williams, Kim Anderson, and Diane Anderson.
Friends will be received Monday, June 8, 2020, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA. Due to Covid-19 State Guidelines, visitors are asked to wear facial covering and maintain social distancing. Please provide your own facial covering.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, 10:00 am at the Gruenwald Cemetery, Bonniebrook Road Butler, PA, with Pastor Barbara Love, officiating.
