Ronald William Lockwood, 85, of Emlenton, PA formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away December 31, 2021, at the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born July 27, 1936, in Pittsburgh, PA. He was the son of the late Arthur William and Cecelia (Hundertmark) Lockwood.
He was a graduate of Baldwin High School, The Art Institute of Pittsburgh and Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Ronald was a Veteran. He served as a medic in the US Navy from 1954 – 1958.
Ronald taught English at Butler Junior and Senior High Schools. He was the Principal of Karns City High School. He was the supervisor of Student Teachers at Clarion University, Clarion, PA. He was also the Mayor of Cherry Valley, PA from 1971 to present and presided over many weddings.
Ronald memberships included the Vice Chairman of the Butler Parks and Recreation Association, the Butler Little Theater as an actor, director, producer and board member.
He enjoyed travel both domestic and internationally, hiking through his woods and his Love of dogs. He could be counted on adopting any dogs that came his way throughout his life.
He is survived by his brother: Robert M. Lockwood and his wife Barbara of Melbourne Beach, FL.; Nephews: Robert M and David A. Lockwood; Great Nieces: Cecelia and Karina Lockwood; Great Nephews: Carter R. and Colin R. Lockwood; Longtime Friend Robert Harrison who was with him through this last hospitalization.
