Rose Marie Green, 86, of Butler, passed away, Sunday May 21, 2023, at her home, with her family by her side.
She was born May 17, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan, a daughter of the late John Tatsak, Jr. and Helen (Butler) Tatsak.
Rose was a 1955 graduate of Butler High School, was a homemaker and also had worked at Mellon bank in the Loan Department. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman, also the Christian mothers at St. Mary’s. She was a devout Catholic with a strong faith. She loved her family farm, which she enjoyed going for walks on, spending time with her family and grandchildren and playing cards. Everyone that knew her loved and adored her.
Surviving are her daughters, Sharon Snyder, Carol A. (Scott) Medley and Lynn (John) Oswald, all of Butler.
5 grandsons: Evan (Hannah), Kyle and Derek (Mikayla) Oswald; Nicholas and Jacob Medley.
1 brother, William (Peg) Tatsak of Rochester, PA.
1 sister, Patricia Buchanan of Apollo, PA.
Numerous nieces and nephews.
2 grand dogs, Reggie and Remy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony C. “Tony” Green, whom she married July 13, 1957, he passed away June 22, 2014; also a brother, Jack, who was a young child.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, at 11:00 am, at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman. The Rev. Matt McClain, Pastor to officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery.
