Rose Marie Snyder, 89, of Fenelton, died Friday February 16, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
Born September 14, 1928 in Butler, she was a daughter of the late James and Stella Miller Spinneweber. She was a graduate of the Butler Beauty School, had worked at the Butler Shirt Factory and was a homemaker and mother.
Rose was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville, was active in the Marion Guild at St. John’s, was a 1st grade CCD teacher at St. John’s from the late 1960’s until the mid 1980’s and had also worked at the Funeral luncheons. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, gardening, jigsaw puzzles and word searches. Along with her mother, she had been a cook for the Threshing crews.
Surviving are her 5 sons: Harry Stephen (Debra) Snyder, III of Fenelton; Ronald E. (Carol Lynn) Snyder of Fenelton; Raymond A. (Becky) Snyder of Fenelton; Patrick M. (Mary) Snyder of Butler; Ralph J. (Rosemary) Snyder of Fenelton.
18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, along with 2 more expected.
3 siblings: Paul Spinneweber, Grace (Richard) Leroy, George (Alice) Spinneweber, all of Butler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry S. Snyder, Jr., whom she married October 26, 1948, he died February 2, 2008; 2 brothers, David and John; 2 sisters, Bernadette and Dolores “Dodie”.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, at 10:00 a.m., at St. John Roman Catholic Church, Coylesville. The Rev. Matt McClain, Pastor, will officiate. Internment will follow in St. John’s Parish Cemetery.
