Police have revealed the identity of the man who died in a motorcycle crash Thursday on Route 422.
The crash happened in the westbound lane around 12:30 p.m. in between the Route 8 and Route 38 interchanges.
Police say 34-year-old Frank Weber of Chicora was driving his Harley Davidson when a tractor trailer carrying an oversized load took out low hanging wires.
Those wires then struck Weber, who lost control of his bike. Weber was pronounced dead at the scene.
Weber’s passenger, 31-year-old Kristi Cross of Chicora, was seriously injured in the crash and was flown to UPMC Presby.
Route 422 was shut down for hours as crews cleared the scene and police investigated.
Butler Township Police were assisted by State Police, Butler City Police, Butler Ambulance, Butler Township Fire District, the VA Fire Department and Butler City Fire Department.
