Rudolf Emil “Rudy” E. Missler, Sr., 78, of Cabot, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 27, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.
He was born December 3, 1938 in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late Martin B. Missler and Lydia Paulowitz Missler.
Rudy worked at Freeport Transport and in the Melt Shop at Armco Steel for 35 years before retiring in 2001. He enjoyed watching old tv shows, chopping firewood, sudoku puzzles and working out in the yard. Rudy was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He loved spending time with his sons and family.
He is survived by three sons, Rudolf E. Missler, Jr., Jason E. Missler and Steven D. Missler all of Cabot, PA; two grandchildren, Meghan Biedenbach and Charley Rae Hoffman; one brother, Victor Kozik and his wife Rose of Allison Park, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol E. (McCormick) Missler whom he married on December 3, 1964 and who died July 28, 2016; one brother, Benjamin Missler and one, sister, Gustava Missler.
Friends will be received at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North St. Butler, PA, with Reverend Mary J. Kitchen,of East Butler Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Private burial will take place in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.
