Earlier this week, Slippery Rock University President Dr. William Behre penned an open letter in support of international students who were facing the possibility of heading home if classes went online this fall.
Now, the Trump administration has rescinded that ruling. The move will allow the 70-plus international students to stay enrolled at Slippery Rock this fall, even if classes are taught remotely.
Behre said in the letter that he would “oppose any measures that would limit international student’s ability to pursue their education.”
Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro, a Democrat, announced earlier this week that the state would be joining a lawsuit along with 17 other state that challenged that ruling.
