Ruth A. McCullough, 71, of Karns City, Brady’s Bend Twp., Armstrong Co. went to be with the Lord Friday morning, April 30, 2021 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.
Ruth was born in Pittsburgh on October 13, 1949. She was the daughter of the late Charles E. and June Rose Burkey Young.
She was 1968 graduate of Pine-Richland High School. Ruth was a homemaker.
She was a long time member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora and was a well-known dedicated Girl Scout leader for more than 40 years. She enjoyed car cruises with her husband and showing off their 1973 corvette stingray. Ruth most especially enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
She is survived by her husband, David E. McCullough, whom she married in Gibsonia on April 22, 1972. Two daughters, Melissa A. Burkhouse and her husband, Richard, of East Brady and Melinda Jeffers and her husband, William, of Cowansville; five grandchildren, Cody A. Davis, Chelsea M. Thompson and her husband, Nicholas, Makayla L. Jeffers, Mackenzie R. Jeffers, and Mackenna M. Jeffers; two great grandsons, Jackson and Alexander Thompson; a sister, Beverly Ray of Valencia, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, and Meade and Ruth McCullough.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City, from Noon – 2 and 5 – 7 p.m. Sunday. A funeral service will be held from the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Joseph Boomhower, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Cemetery in the Village of Kepple’s Corners.
