Sara Jane Sanzotti Vero, age 93, of Butler, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born December 13, 1930 in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Bruno and Flora Scialabba Sanzotti.
Sara Jane was a homemaker and a former co-owner of the Monroe Hotel.
She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
She was deeply devoted to her family and her faith. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and reading.
She is survived by four daughters, Joni Anderson and her husband, Brian, of Dayton, Ohio, Pam Hammonds, of Butler, Susan Coulter and her husband, Jim, of Butler, and Karen Morrow and her husband, Roger, of Butler; one brother, Jim “Vince” Sanzotti and his wife, Claudette, of Butler; and seven grandchildren, Jimi Coulter, Patrick Hammonds (Brittnee), Joseph Coulter and his wife, Alisha, Nicholas Anderson, Abby Greenfield and her husband, Andrew, Benjamin Morrow and his wife, Gabrielle, and Sara Morrow.
She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, Maddox Hammonds, Jack Hammonds, Penelope Coulter, Flora Coulter, Evelina Coulter, Leo Coulter, Talia Greenfield, and Vera Greenfield; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Nicole Coulter.
In addition to her parents, Sara Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leonard “Hank” Vero, who passed away June 23, 1997; and one granddaughter, Flora Marie Morrow.
Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler, on Sunday, June 30, from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 1, at 10 a.m. at All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler, with Rev. John J. Baver officiating.
Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
