Saturday will be known as “Small Farm Animals Day” in at least one part of Butler County.
The Harmony Museum has teamed up with Butler County 4-H to sponsor the event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 11 at the Harmonist Barn on Mercer Road in Harmony.
The day is a chance for kids and their families to meet baby farm animals and the 4-H youths who care for them. Lambs, goats, rabbits, alpacas and a calf are also expected to be on display and available for petting.
Historic Harmony President Rodney Gasch said that while Butler County has a long agricultural heritage, it’s now very difficult for most county residents to see and interact with baby farm animals.
“We are excited to team up with Butler County 4-H members to share the joy of baby farm animals and to tell the stories of our region’s agricultural heritage,” Gasch said.
The event is free and parking is available at the barn.
