The Pittsburgh Pirates tied the Detroit Tigers in spring training action last night, 8-8.
Pirates Prospects also participated in the Spring Break-Out game against the Philadelphia Phillies’ Prospects. Starting pitcher and top prospect Bubba Chandler struck out 4 over 2 innings of work. The Pirates lost that game 5-3.
The Pirates return to action today when they host the Baltimore Orioles at 1:05 PM. They travel to Tampa to take on the New York Yankees tomorrow also at 1 PM.
High School Basketball
The North Catholic Girls basketball team will face Blackhawk today in the PIAA Class 4A Western Region Quarterfinals. Tip-off is noon at Hampton high school.
The North Catholic Boys basketball team defeated Erie Cathedral Prep in overtime, 78-75. They will move on to the Semi-Finals.
