The Saxonburg Museum just received a $10,000 donation that will greatly improve the service at the Museum.
The building has had a heater and AC unit that had been in the building since the 1990. At times the cooling unit would blow hot air during tours.
The issue had been previously brought up by leadership at the Museum but budgeting was never set aside for the repairs. But thanks to two $5,000 donations from the Evelyn Rodgers trust and the Logan Family Trust the repairs will be made.
The timing for the donation couldn’t been made at a better time according to Brooke Wamsley Vice President of Friends of Saxonburg Museum.
“The air conditioning actually within this past week permanently ceased. It’s non-operational, and there’s a little bit of a smell in the basement,” Wamsley said. “So we’re getting new quotes from different companies around the area.”
The museum also plans on being open for more hours on Saturdays.
