The South Butler Community Library is inviting the community to a celebration of a local woman of steel this weekend.
A carriage procession featuring a reenactor of former Saxonburg resident Emily Roebling will begin at the Saxonburg Memorial Church at 10 a.m. Saturday before ending with a ceremony at the library.
Roebling used her engineering skills to complete the Brooklyn Bridge after her husband Washington who was chief engineer and son of designer John Roebling became ill.
No registration is required to attend this gathering. Carriage rides will be available for $20 following the ceremony.
