We told you a few weeks ago about a mysterious bird illness that that led the Game Commission to recommend taking down bird feeders.
Scientists are still working on finding out exactly what that illness is so in the meantime, Dr. Margaret Brittingham of Penn State Extension says to keep following the same protocols.
“The connection with bird feeding is that if this is an infectious disease, you don’t want to concentrate birds together to increase spread,” Brittingham said.
The disease was first reported in Washington D.C. after people starting seeing dead birds that appeared to have crusty eyes.
The PA Game Commission still has not had any reported cases in Butler County.
