Scott A. Hankey, 53, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on January 14, 2019 at the Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born February 26, 1965 in Butler, Pennsylvania to Ray Hankey and Etta Gray Hankey.
Scott was a graduate of the Butler School District. He worked for the past 24 years in the Hilltop Maintenance Dept. at AK Steel. Scott was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church. He enjoyed dirt track races, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities and he loved traveling to Myrtle Beach. Scott was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan and loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Laura Jack Hankey, whom he married on July 19, 2016; son, Zane Hankey of Butler, PA; two daughters, Nicholle (James) Schoonover of Boyers, PA, and Danielle (Tyler Weleski) Hankey of Butler, PA; stepson, Josh (Kelly) Wakeford of Youngstown, OH; stepdaughter, Kristen (Dylan) Wakeford of Columbus, OH; sister, Susan (John) Relihan of Chicora, PA; niece, Jaycee Relihan; and nephew, John Relihan.
Friends will be received Friday, January 18, 2019, 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 pm at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019, 1:00 pm at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North St. Butler, PA, with Pastor Bruce Gascoine of Christ Community United Methodist, officiating.
Burial will take place in the North Side Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
