A couple of repairs are needed for the community pool in Saxonburg.
According to Jefferson Township officials, the heater at the SEBCO Pool in Laura Doerr Park is not working. It’s estimated that the repairs will cost at least $4,000.
There is also an issue with pipes that burst because of weather conditions, which led to the pump room being flooded twice.
With the repairs, officials said that “the pool’s funds have been depleted.” This comes as the pool is facing an estimated $1.1 million renovation project.
Although they have received a $550,000 grant from the state, the township will still be on the hook for a substantial amount to fund the project.
Officials are currently discussing options, including seeking donations, to help fill the gap.
