With preparations underway for former President Donald Trump’s return to Butler, Congressman Mike Kelly says security measures will be heightened.
Kelly says plans are in place to expand security at the Farm Show Saturday.
“We started from square one, including the perimeter. It’s going to be way outside, with the AGR Building within that protected area. The water tower will be protected. We have a shield around the outside, more or less, that will protect that area and the people that are there,” Kelly said.
Kelly also says that the main entrance to the Farm Show will be closed, meaning the gates and parking will happen via the Buttercup Road entrance.
“It’s going to be the same problems that we had before. I think we’re going to have a heightened traffic problem,” Kelly said. “If you want to be there at a certain time, leave your home early. Don’t wait until the last minute.”
State police say to avoid Evans City Road/Route 68 if you are not going to the rally.
