In addition to the presidential election, Pennsylvania will be voting on a major senate race this fall.
It features Democrat incumbent Bob Casey and Republican challenger Dave McCormick.
Our newsroom recently spoke with Casey, who cited his work with union leaders to change a Department of Energy rule as why he is good representative for Pennsylvania.
“They came to me and the administration and said ‘we want you to work with us to improve this Department of Energy rule on transformers,”’ Casey said. “And guess what? D.O.E. did.”
Casey also says his re-election is in an effort to fight what he calls “greedflation.”
“We’ve never seen the kind of spike in food prices that we’ve seen in the last couple of years. And that was due to one thing, corporate greed. Just raw greed,” Casey said.
Casey was first elected in 2006. McCormick meanwhile sought the Republican nomination for Senate in 2022, but lost to Dr. Mehmet Oz. However, he cruised to the nomination this year.
