U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania John Fetterman is receiving treatment for clinical depression.
Fetterman’s Chief of Staff issued a statement Thursday that Fetterman checked himself into the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Wednesday night.
Fetterman was evaluated by the Attending Physician of the United States Congress who recommended treatment on a voluntary basis. The statement went on to say that Fetterman has experienced depression periodically through his life but it became more severe in recent weeks.
The doctors at Walter Reed believe that Fetterman is getting the care that he needs “and will soon be back to himself”. Fetterman is continuing to recover from a stroke he suffered while campaigning last year.
