Governor Josh Shapiro is expected to sign a bipartisan law that a local state senator proposed that will increase telemedicine care.
Senator Elder Vogel has spent years attempting to pass the Telemedicine law and now it is expected to be signed into law in the coming days.
The law will offer defined guidelines to who can provide telemedicine services and provide clarity around reimbursement for services.
Telemedicine became a crucial component to care during the Covid-19 pandemic and according to the memo released about the law, Telemedicine will provide “most vulnerable Pennsylvanians who otherwise would not be able to receive these services due to various circumstances.”
The law passed the both house and senate with bipartisan support.
