An agricultural program for young farmers received recognition at the state level earlier this week.
Senator Elder Vogel chairs the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee. He says the FFA—formerly known as the Future Farmers of America—serves an important role in educating students in the 7th through 12th grade.
“Members of the FFA come from diverse background and are provided an agricultural education that includes fields like agribusiness, agriscience, biotechnology, horticulture, animal science among others,” Vogel said.
Over 13,000 students participate in the program through 148 different chapters in the state.
