The Seneca Valley School District is teaming up with the FBI to host a session on the dangers of children being online.
The seminar is called “Dangers of Tech” and will be held at the Seneca Valley Senior High Auditorium Thursday night at 6:30 p.m.
The FBI says they have been seeing an alarming rate of adults coercing children into producing sexual images and videos. During the session, the FBI will present info about how children can be safer online.
“I think it’s important for parents to be truly informed on the predators that are out there and how they surreptitiously contact our kids,” Seneca Valley Safety and Security Supervisor Officer Jason Young said in a statement. “Even as a law enforcement officer who has seen and experienced many victim-related crimes, I found it sobering when the FBI stated that every school age female has been contacted by an adult male.”
The event is free and open to the public.
