Seneca Valley is bringing in a Slippery Rock University alum to serve as their newest assistant principal.
The district announced that Thomas McKelvey will be the new assistant principal at Haine Elementary School. McKelvey comes to the position from the Ambrigde School District where he served as an elementary school principal for the last three years.
“Mr. McKelvey has demonstrated outstanding leadership skills in his previous administrative roles and will bring with him a wealth of experience, most especially in the areas of professional development, special education and community engagement,” Dr. Sean McCarty, Assistant Superintendent for K-6 Instruction, said in a statement. “We are fortunate to have him joining the team at Haine Elementary School.”
McKelvey is a resident of Hampton Township. He completed his undergraduate work at Slippery Rock University and his master’s degree at California University of Pennsylvania. He’s currently pursuing a doctorate at Point Park University.
McKelvey will begin his role starting next month.
