The Seneca Valley Middle School will be renamed after a graduate who was killed while serving in Afghanistan.
Starting next school year, 7th and 8th grade Seneca Valley students will attend the newly titled Ryan Gloyer Middle School. About 200 people showed up at the school board meeting earlier this week to support the proposal, including Ryan’s father- Dick Gloyer.
“It allows Ryan’s legacy to live on and honor his service and sacrifice,” Dick Gloyer told us in an interview last week.
Ryan Gloyer was 34 years old when he was killed in 2016 while serving as a Green Beret. He graduated from Seneca Valley in the year 2000.
