A local school district will be receiving money from the state to help prepare students for careers in computer and technology fields.
Seneca Valley School District has been awarded a $35,000 PAsmart Targeted grant from the PA Department of Education.
Seneca Valley plans to use the funding to increase the exposure of students in grades 3 to 6 to high quality, age appropriate computer science learning. The grant will also allow for teacher training and the expansion of computer science related clubs such as robotics, coding, and artificial intelligence.
This is the second state grant awarded to Seneca Valley this month. Earlier this month, the district received $25,000 to help with expanding workplace opportunities.
