Seneca Valley School District is being recognized by a national organization.
The School Superintendents Association, also known as the AASA, named the district as a Lighthouse System. The award was one of only four given nationally.
The designation is based on a number of initiatives districts are taking to have a forward-thinking educational approach.
Seneca Valley officials say they are honored to be chosen and that this acknowledges the district is “effectively shaping the future of education.”
