Some local seniors got to enjoy a day at the carnival yesterday at the YWCA.
The event was held as part of the United Way’s Week of Caring. Residents of the Under Our Wing senior living center got together to enjoy snacks, prizes, and games for a couple of hours.
“This event specifically brought so much joy and smiles to people who really deserve it,” YWCA Executive Director Elizabeth Short said.
She added that many of the residents have been limited in their social interactions with each since the onset of COVID.
Short also said the United Way has been a great partner for events like this.
“They are a community convener and we’re so excited to be a part of that,” Short said.
The United Way of Southwestern PA is hosting a number of events in the region in support of their Week of Caring.
