Seven Fields and Evans City Police Commission have reached an arbitrated contract agreement with their regional police department.
The new contract includes retroactive payments dating back to January 2023 and the new contract will be extended to the end of 2025. It includes an incremental 5% salary increase until 2025 and an increase in benefits for active officers.
This agreement is in hope that it can help increase staffing for the regional departments. Seven Fields Borough Council President Kimberly Regan-Koch stills see the borough as under staffed.
“The Borough of Seven Fields still maintains its position that the regional police department’s staffing has long been reduced to inadequate levels,” Regan-Koch said.
Although the individual departments are understaffed, State Police and surrounding departments have been helping with staffing issues. Even with the new agreement the department of Seven Fields Borough is still looking for potential departments to partner with.
No timeline has been set but an announcement should be coming later this summer.
