A Seven Fields mother is facing child endangerment charges after police say she locked her 12-year-old daughter outside with no jacket while it was snowing.
Kimberly Giles, 53, in is the Butler County Prison. She was arrested by an Evans City-Seven Fields Regional Police officer on Monday at her home on Mosside Loop.
Police went to the home for a well-being check after the 12-year-old’s dad called 911 to say his daughter was locked out of the house by her mother.
The girl told officers she came home from school that day and found the front and back doors of her home locked and barricaded. She says her mother was inside the house waving at her. Police say it was 35 degrees outside and lightly snowing.
Giles was charged with child endangerment and disorderly conduct.
