There are several holiday-themed events helping in and around Butler County this weekend.
An event at Alameda Park is sure to get everyone in the holiday spirit.
The Annual Flashlight Candy Cane Hunt will take place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18 at the Carousel Shelter.
Toddlers through kids aged 10-years-old are welcome to bring a flashlight and follow clues to find candy canes. Hot chocolate will be served and Santa is expected to make an appearance.
Pre-registration with Butler County Parks and Recreation Department is preferred at a cost of $9 per child.

The start of the holiday season in Cranberry officially begins on Friday.
Activities surrounding a visit from Santa Claus to the Cranberry Township Municipal Center will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17.
This free event will include a group of live reindeer as well as a giant LEGO holiday village display. Santa will arrive around 7 p.m. on a specially decorated fire truck to throw a switch lighting the community tree on the Center’s front lawn.
A Cranberry EMS ambulance will be accepting new and unwrapped toys for those less fortunate through the Toys for Tots program.
The holiday season will kick off in Pittsburgh on Friday, Nov. 17.
Comcast Light Up Night will be held downtown complete with concerts, ice skating, food, activities and fireworks.
