Governor Josh Shapiro has announced a $20 billion lawsuit to prevent energy price increases in the commonwealth.
On Monday the Governor announced the Commonwealth will be suing PJM, a Pennsylvania based energy company, to prevent rate increases.
The filled compliant to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission claims a capacity auction held in July of 2024 will raise prices significantly.
According to the Shapiro, it could lead to an 800 percent increase. The governor has also offered possible such as reopening closes lines, speed up project approvals, and lower capacity caps.
