Incoming Governor Josh Shapiro is laying out his picks for cabinet secretaries.
Shapiro nominated Dr. Khalid Mumin as his education secretary. He would come from Philadelphia suburb Lower Merion where he has served as superintendent.
The current director of the Allegheny Department of Health Dr. Debra Bogen was named as the nominee for health secretary.
Former Democratic Senate candidate Dr. Val Arkoosh has been named as the nominee to run the Human Services department.
Shapiro also plans for familiar faces to return by nominating current Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding and DCNR Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn for another term.
All cabinet nominees must be approved by the Republican-led Senate.
