Governor Josh Shapiro was making stops across Western Pennsylvania yesterday, including in Butler County.
For the second time since July Governor Shapiro made a stop at the Steamfitters 449 facility in Harmony. Shapiro made the visit and toured the facility to highlight his administration’s investment into the trades and celebrate National Apprenticeship week.
“I believe we can connect the dots between our businesses, our schools, and labor – and through investments in programs like this one, my Administration will continue to be a strong partner in building the best, most highly-trained workforce in the country right here in Pennsylvania,” Shapiro said.
Governor Shapiro also said that trade skill jobs can help lead the commonwealth into prosperity and growth.
“I believe that when you look at the future of opportunities here in the Commonwealth of jobs, safe communities and economic opportunities for families, it runs through facilities like this,” Shapiro said. “Investing in people like you so that you can in turn make our communities safer, stronger and and more vibrant.”
Later in the day Shapiro made a stop in Pittsburgh’s North Side neighborhood at the Astrobotic Technology Center to announce a $4 million Investment to a Pittsburgh based space company.
