Governor Josh Shapiro is presenting his proposed budget for the state later today.
The governor will be joined by lawmakers in Harrisburg where he will outline his spending plan for the upcoming fiscal year.
Shapiro is expected to ask for more financial aid for the poorest school districts and rural hospitals.
His proposal also coincides with Pennsylvania having a $10.5 billion projected surplus.
