Sherrie Lynn Gagliardi, 55, of Butler, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus in the early morning hours of April 27th, 2024 surrounded by her loving family after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Sherrie was born in Butler, PA on April 29, 1968 to Reuben M. Holt Jr. and Beverly (Schilling) Holt. Sherrie graduated from Butler High School in 1987. After high school, Sherrie worked at Penn Champ for several years and most recently worked with her husband at his shop, Gagliardi Machine.
Sherrie will be remembered for her kind, loving, and easy-going spirit. Sherrie lit up every room she walked into, and the world was a brighter place because of her. If Sherrie loved you, you knew it, as no one could love better than Sherrie. Her loss leaves a hole in the hearts of so many. In her free time, Sherrie enjoyed spending time with her big family, floating in her sister’s pool, riding horses, trips to the casino, drag racing, and most of all – loving on her big dog Otis.
Sherrie is survived by her husband and love of her life, Michael Gagliardi, whom she married on May 5th, 1995 in Hawaii. Mike and Sherrie were inseparable and loved spending time together going to Las Vegas and Hawaii, and just hanging out at home with their dog.
Along with her mother, Beverly Holt of Prospect, Sherrie is survived by her brothers Reuben Holt III and wife Wendy of Chicora, Jeff Holt and wife Sharon of North Washington, Tim Holt and wife Jill of Butler, and her sister Jill Paul and husband Dan of Prospect. She was blessed with several nieces and nephews: Cody Holt and wife Samantha; Dale Holt and wife Kate; Reuben Holt IV; Buck Holt; Alyson Holt; Paige Holt; Maggie Myers; Monica Myers; and great nephews Will Hampshire; Luke Holt; and Mack Holt. Also surviving are Sherrie’s mother-in-law, Dee Gagliardi, Sherrie’s lifelong best friend Doug McCann who was always there for Sherrie whenever she needed him, and her wonderful neighbors Dale, Bev, Luke, and Mason Montag and numerous other family members and friends.
Sherrie was welcomed into heaven by her father, Reuben M. Holt Jr., infant brother Ricky Holt, and her faithful dogs Skip, Moe, and Mack. Sherrie’s best buddy Otis never left her side throughout her illness and went to be with her in heaven on the day of her passing.
At Sherrie’s request no funeral services will be held and burial will be private.
