There is a bit more optimism between the political parties in Harrisburg that a budget deal could be struck before midnight tonight.
According to one Republican state senator, there was some “forward movement” yesterday between the GOP controlled legislature and Democratic Governor Tom Wolf’s office.
Another lawmaker also said that it wasn’t crucial to make the deal before the deadline tonight, but added that negotiations can’t go on forever.
The sticking point in the negotiations appears to be the amount of money set aside of public education funding.
The total budget is estimated to be around $42 billion.
