Six different Butler County volunteer fire departments are receiving grant funding from the state.
Over $880,000 in grants were announced statewide, and more than $33,000 is coming to the county.
Fire departments in Callery, Evans City, Harrisville, Herman, North Washington, and West Sunbury were awarded grants.
The funding is directed for helping wildfire protection. Priority on awarding the grants was given to projects that include the purchase of wildfire suppression equipment and protective clothing.
