Gas prices have declined slightly both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, dropped by two cents to reach $3.77 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania also dropped by two cents to $3.74. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Altoona at $3.54, while the most expensive is in Beaver at $3.83.
The average national gas price fell by three cents over the past week to reach $3.41. This is nine cents less than a month ago and 45 cents less than one year ago. The price of oil and gas production decreased while gas demand increased.
