Gas prices both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania have increased slightly this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, is $2.45 per gallon which is an increase of six cents compared to last week.
Prices also rose across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week, to $2.46 per gallon which is an increase of three cents. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Greensburg at $ 2.39 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.50 in Mercer.
The average national gas price dropped by one cent this week to $2.17 which is two cents less than last month and 49 cents less than last year. According to AAA, demand for gas has remained low with a large supply in reserve so the impact of hurricane season on gas prices might not be as severe as normal.
