A Slippery Rock man is facing a fine after attempting to bring a loaded gun onto a plane at Pittsburgh International Airport.
On the morning of August 7th an unidentified Slippery Rock man had a loaded 9 mm handgun in his carry-on luggage. Federal penalties for bringing a loaded gun to TSA Security check can reach up to $15,000 depending circumstances.
Travelers are able to travel with an unloaded gun if they take it to the check in counter and correctly pack the gun in a hard-sided locked case. Those with TSA PreCheck will lose that privilege if a gun is not stored correctly. Even those with a license to carry have to obey TSA rules.
As of August 7th, 2023, 23 guns have been confiscated by TSA at Pittsburgh International Airport.
