Officials in Slippery Rock are looking for PennDOT to conduct a safety study on a road that some believe is dangerous.
Earlier this school-year, an 11-year-old girl was hit by a car while getting on the bus along Franklin Street. She was taken to the hospital, but fortunately suffered only minor injuries.
Our news partners at WPXI are reporting that the mayor of Slippery Rock has reached out to state officials to do a speed study. The speed limit changes drastically on the road, going from 25 to 55 miles per hour in a relatively short distance.
Officials say speed studies have been done on Franklin Street before, but they are looking for PennDOT to conduct another one to get updated information.
