Slippery Rock University officials say they are making progress on their effort to reduce greenhouse emissions.
SRU laid out plans to achieve carbon neutrality by 2037 and is now receiving a grant for the plan from West Penn Power.
The $25,000 grant will help pay for three student interns to complete jobs that support the work of consultants from the Ever-Green group, which is a sustainable energy advising group.
SRU is targeting changes to the central heating plant and underground steam system are long-term plans in their going green initiative.
