Slippery Rock University has approved its budget for this school year.
The council of trustees voted 8-3 in favor of the $153 million budget for 2023-2024.
Officials say the university received an additional $3.6 million in state funding, which helps fill a gap that was expected due to personnel expenses and inflation.
There is also $3.5 million set aside from last year’s budget to support strategic initiatives.
SRU officials say they were able to have a balanced budget without raising tuition, which is the 5th straight year with no hike.
