Slippery Rock University has created a new subdivision to improve organization and better connect with the needs of students.
The recently created Center for Career and Academic Progress will be made up of the previously existing First National Bank Office of Career Education and Development, the Office of Distinguished Scholarships and Fellowships, the Success Coaching Program, and the Department of Exploratory Studies and Academic Progress.
The physical location of each unit will remain the same on the first floor of the Bailey Library and in Patterson Hall but the plan is for the Center to move into the University Union once renovations are completed.
All four units are focused on helping students to set goals and build relationships that can help their academic ambitions. The new Center will allow for the consolidation of resources through the use of similar tools such as software products. Visit SRU’s website for more information.
